Pierce and Martin were once rivals, joking around and messing with each other all the time. When Martin found a magical item, a book that made what was journaled into reality, he went to work tormenting his frenemy. One night, when upset, he wrote "A world where Pierce isn't here".
In the new world, Pierce stumbled across his own tombstone. No one remembers him, no one knows him. In his final attempt to make things right, Martin erased Pierce's memory. Now he haunts his own grave every year, mourning someone he doesn't know but feels connected to.

Describing the nightmares
I just want to stay away. I know I'm already gone. It makes me sad to go over there, but it's somehow the only place I feel like myself.
